HEALTH & SAFETY ON BOARD
Your health & Safety is of paramount importance for us and The Carina is fully equipped from a safety point of view.

Our Captain and cruise staff work in accordance with Government and Local Authority rules and regulations and are covered by the appropriate vessel insurance. And The Carina undergoes regular technical checks and maintenance.

At the start of each cruise our Cruise Manager gives a health and safety briefing to ensure everyone is fully aware of the H&S procedures and facilities on board and what to do in the case of an emergency.

The Caria is fitted with relevant marine safety equipment: VHF Radio, GPS Plotting, Twoway
radios, Water Ingress Alarm System, Anti-sinking Pump System, Fire Alarm system and fire
extinguishers.

Fire extinguishers – checked regularly and easily accessible
Life rafts and life rings
Tenders  
First aid trained staff and fully stocked first aid cabinet (NB if medical attention is needed for any serious condition we will contact the on call doctor)

PLEASE DO NOT
When swimming and kayaking don’t go into caves, be aware of strong currents
When swimming be aware of sudden weather changes
Do not swim in heavy polluted areas
Jump off the top deck into the water if you want to swim. Please use the ladder
It is strictly NO SMOKING inside the vessel. Smoking is only permitted on the sundeck

SAFETY BRIEFING

Our health and safety briefing on board will include the following:
Life jacket drill
Use of life rafts and life rings
What to do in the event of an emergency (to remain calm and follow the directions of the Cruise Manager and crew)
Weather forecast
What to do in situations including:
   • Someone falling overboard
   • The boat collides with another boat or a rock
   • Boat caught in strong winds and heavy currents
   • Getting stung by a jelly fish while swimming
   • Safe kayaking
   • Weather forecast

SECURITY/PERSONAL VALUABLES

Please keep your valuables in the safe in your cabin (this is at your own risk) or keep in our reception safety box. The Management takes no liability or responsibility for any missing
belongings unless they are registered and kept in safekeeping at reception.
